State Policymakers Urged to Protect Investments in Children and Working Families

In light of reduced revenue projections, Mello says investing in our future workforce is key to growing Nebraska.

OMAHA, NE - Holland Children's Movement COO and former State Senator Heath Mello made the following statement regarding the Nebraska Economic Forecasting Advisory Board's decision to lower revenue projections by over $217 million:

"Today's revenue forecast is a stark reminder of how important priorities are in building and balancing the state budget.

From early childhood education to children's health care, Nebraskans expect a state budget that prioritizes opportunity and investing in the future.

Now, more than ever, state policymakers need to protect investments in children and working families to grow Nebraska's economy and future workforce."
